Enjoying the Little Moments

Pinned from HERE.  \\  Find me on Pinterest!

I found this quote via Pinterest and it resonated deeply with me.

I am hopelessly guilty of looking ahead; planning, dreaming, worrying about the future. I spend a fair amount of time looking back too - remembering good times [usually Hawaii] and often feeling melancholy about a time that has passed.

Because I am aware of these traits [FAULTS], I really do try to counteract them. I continuously remind myself to focus on the present. To live in the moment. To just BE.

That is why this quote fit so well for me. THIS is the present. THIS is the only thing that is guaranteed to me - this moment RIGHT NOW. The past is a part of me, but it's gone. The future is ahead and is worthy of excitement and planning, but it's unknown. It's not guaranteed.

"Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have." -Eckhart Tolle.

WOW.

Last month, we had our first bonfire of the season. After a long winter [yes, it was mild but it was still winter and I HATE WINTER], I love nothing more than sitting around a roaring bonfire, making s'mores. Especially if it involves the company of my family.

It is in perfect, and perfectly ordinary moments like this one that this quote really sinks in. THIS IS MY LIFE.

And my life is blessed.
