For Clients:
What do you photograph?

I am an authentic family, senior portrait and wedding photographer. I specialize in people photography, and dabble in nature and landscape photography in my personal projects. I am currently based out of central Minnesota in Brainerd/Baxter, but am available for travel.

What is your style of photography?

My photography style is authentic, timeless and passionate. I strive to capture genuine and authentic interactions between people and to convey the true essence of those I photograph in the images I take.

My photographs are not stiff and formal; they are not traditional or forced. I will guide my clients into poses and direct the session, but I do so in a way that appears effortless and natural.

My editing style is crisp, bright, and clean. I edit my photos to reflect the natural setting of the session, and to enhance the beauty of what I photographed. To see examples of my editing style, look through the galleries found on my website.

Why should I choose you?

If you are looking for a relaxed and fun session, with the only goal being for me to capture the essence of your family, I might be the perfect photographer for you.

You should choose me if you want images that are authentic and genuine, and that capture this moment in time – this moment in your life, as you are today.

You should choose me if you like my style of editing [see question above] and want authentic and timeless photos of your family to display in your home. If you are looking for authentic, we might be a perfect match.

If you are look for more traditional studio portraiture, I am not the best fit for you. There are many photographers with different and distinct styles, so I encourage you to find the photographer that perfectly fits your vision and your hopes for your session.

Where do your photo sessions take place?

I am an on-location photographer, which means I do not shoot out of a studio. My sessions take place either outdoors in a public location, or at your own home. This allows me to better capture the authentic moments that I am seeking.

How much does a session with you cost?

For information about the investment of your photographs, take a look at my website.

How do I book my session?

If you want to book me to photograph you, start by either sending me an email [lauraradniecki@gmail.com] or contacting me via the contact form on my website.

What should I wear to my session?

Ahhh, the million dollar question! My husband and I have had our photos professionally taken so I completely understand the anxiety that wardrobe choices can cause. I was right there with you, ripping through my closet, shouting, “I have nothing to wear!” Here are my guidelines:

1. Choose clothes that you are comfortable in. Make sure you are wearing clothes that you would wear on a daily basis.

2. You do not have to match. My favorite sessions and my favorite photographs were not of families all wearing white polo shirts and jeans. If this is the look you are going for, great! But don't be afraid of mixing color, prints, and accessories. Just make sure that your choices all flow – lay out all the clothes on the floor and if they are cohesive and go together, you are set!

3. If you are wearing dark colors, give yourself a once-over with a lint roller before your session. People hair, pet hair and lint shows up very distinctly on black/blue/brown shirts in photographs.

4. Take a deep breath and relax. The most important part of the photos are the interactions between you and your loved ones. That is what I want to capture, that is why I am here. The clothes are a distant second.

How long until I see my photos after my session?

Your photos will be in your online gallery and ready for you to see them two weeks after a portrait or senior session and four weeks after a wedding.

What products do you offer?

I offer a variety of prints, digital files, canvas wall prints and albums which can be ordered after your session. If you want more information about any of these products, let me know!

I have more questions, how can I reach you?

Feel free to contact me via my website, email me at lauraradniecki@gmail.com, find me on Facebook or call me at 218.851.4854.

Do you love what you do?

I 100% adore what I do. I view capturing authentic images of you and your family a great privilege and an even greater necessity. Life is short; I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of capturing it at this stage, at this moment and preserving those memories forever.

For Photographers:

How did you get started in photography?

I have always been interested in photography, and I have dozens of childhood photo albums to prove it. It wasn't until I was living on Oahu with my husband who was an Active Duty Marine at the time, that I decided to buy a DSLR and learn how to use it. My hobby turned into an obsession and after hundreds of hours of learning/reading/absorbing information from the internet, and even more hours shooting, Laura Radniecki Images was born.

What equipment do you shoot with?

I shoot with professional grade Nikon cameras and lenses.

I want to start a photography business. Where do I start?

First, fine tune your shooting skills. Read as much as you can, learn your camera inside and out with the help of your camera manual and shoot, shoot, shoot! Get off of auto mode and learn how to shoot manually. Only when you fully understand how to use your camera should you begin to consider the business side of photography.

Despite what many people think when they first start their businesses [me included!], a profitable photography business is more business than photography. Learn business. Study business. Once you do start your business, make sure you are doing it legitimately. Pay taxes, buy business insurance. Continue to refine and grow in your skills, both as an entrepreneur and as a photographer.

Do you hold workshops or teach others how to use their cameras?

Yes, I do hold Love Your Camera workshops for people who want to learn to better use their DSLR cameras. If you are interested in receiving information about future workshops, email me at lauraradniecki@gmail.com and let me know you want to be on the email list.

I also do 1 on 1 mentoring for people who want to learn to use their DSLR cameras better, as well as for people who want to launch or improve their photography business. Contact me for more information; I'd love to work with you!
