Yesterday night, my parents came over to watch a movie with Matt and I. My mom had mentioned she heard of a good movie and she'd pick it up from Redbox.
The last movie she had recommended to her was shall we say, NOT GOOD. At least my parents and I didn't like it. I forgot what it was called, it made that good of an impression on me haha.
This time, she brought over Temple Grandin.
OH. MY. WORD.
If you haven't seen or heard of this movie, RENT IT. ASAP. It is one of the most awesome and inspiring movies I've seen in a long, long time.
Claire Danes plays Temple Grandin, an autistic woman who overcomes her personal and social limits and achieves amazing things in her lifetime. It's all true, too. That's what is so amazing about this movie. It's incredible, and true. The true life Temple Grandin's story can be read on her website, HERE.
This movie had us laughing, my mom and I crying, and us all contemplating life's hurdles and triumphs throughout it.
I think I want to rent it again soon sometime.
I know this is a very old post, but I was doing a google search for Temple Grandin and your blog came up randomly. lol.
ReplyDeleteAdam and I watching this movie tonight. We had put it off for many, many months after Ryker's diagnosis and we are now ready to watch it. We have heard it's very inspiring and I'm sure I'll be a blubbering mess by the time it's over. :)
