Read Your Camera Manual | Weekly Photography Tips

Today's photography tip is more of a challenge for you. Something that will inevitably improve your photography in many ways if you follow through with it.

I want to challenge you to read your camera's manual.

If you are like 99.99% of the population, you haven't read your camera manual from cover to cover. If you're like many camera owners, you might not even know where your manual is. That's no excuse! You can easily google camera manuals for most cameras nowadays.

So this week, I want to challenge you to make a point to either dig up your camera's manual or to find it online. Then set a date and read it. Have your camera nearby so you can find out how to access the different settings it mentions and the different buttons it shows. Have a computer with google open nearby so you can look up any terms that you don't know while you're reading.

Learn what your camera can do. It doesn't matter if you don't know HOW to use the settings, or what impact they will make on your photography. That's not the important point yet. You can't learn how to use the settings if you don't know they are even there.

Ready... set... find your manual!
