They began dating and in January of this year, they were married, alongside Jeremy's children, in a small private ceremony. Then, plans began for their big summer wedding and reception!
Their early June wedding and reception took place at a location I'd never been to before. Uncle Bern's Party Barn in Motley, MN. What a cool spot! The natural beauty of the woods, the eclectic charm of the party barn, and the amazingly creative spirit of Leah's mom Nancy combined to form the most amazing and beautiful wedding day. Everything was perfectly decorated in what we decided was appropriately classified as "Rustic Chic."
Personal touches were all around, from lots of family photos, hints at the family's [Jeremy and Colton's] love of fishing, and photos from their first ceremony in January. Jeremy's mom made the wedding cake and the cupcakes, and family and friends came together to decorate and to serve the delicious food. It was a day that will never be forgotten by anyone in attendance.
The ceremony included vows not only between Leah and Jeremy, but between their kids as well. The sand ceremony was touching as well, with the most emotional part of the ceremony being when Leah saw her wedding ring for the first time. At their wedding in January, they exchanged plain wedding bands. This time, Jeremy chose a wedding ring for Leah but didn't tell her what it was like at all. She saw it for the first time during the ceremony and it was very moving to witness. The ring has the two birthstones of the family in it - three of them have the same birthstone and Colton has another one. The ring truly sums up everything these two are about, and what this day was a celebration of - FAMILY.
The reception began with Leah and Jeremy dancing to "God Bless the Broken Road" and there were many wet eyes in the house. [Yes, including mine!] The song is very fitting to them and their family. Then, the father-daughter and mother-son dances continued in the tear-jerker method, with Leah and her dad dancing first, and then Jeremy and Justine joining them on the dance floor. Jeremy and his mom began the mother-son dance, and then Leah and Colton joined them partway through. Yes, many, many wet eyes in the group.
To the whole Swift family - I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing me as your wedding photographer. It was an incredible honor to be there to document all the different parts of your wedding day. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness as you make many memories together as a family.
And to Nancy - thank you for making the setting for my photographs so incredibly beautiful! :) You know how impressed I am.
