Yellow Lady Slippers

Minnesota's state flower is the lady slipper.

But until last Thursday, I had never seen one in my life.

Last week, I was working on a photo assignment for an upcoming Lake Country Journal article and it took me out to the Cuyuna mountain bike trails. While we walked the trails and took some photos for the magazine, someone mentioned the lady slippers blooming nearby. I wanted to see them so we went to check them out and sure enough, there are tons of yellow lady slippers blooming all around the trails!

So delicate and beautiful. What a blessing to be able to see one finally!
