Kim + Brad - In Love - Brainerd, MN Couples Photography

I'm a big advocate for the importance of photography. Duh, right? I know, you wouldn't have guessed. I am an advocate for photography for major occasions like weddings, birthdays, graduations and military homecomings. I'm also an advocate for photography of life. Photographs of pets, of kids with messy hair and dirty faces. I'm an advocate for capturing real life and every day moments. There doesn't need to be an occasion to warrant a photograph. Life is occasion enough.

When I got an email from Kim saying she'd like to talk about having photos taken of her husband and herself, I immediately hoped they'd choose me. I love when people want to have photos taken even though they're already married, they don't have any children, and it's just them. Because they love each other.

There was another reason why Kim and Brad wanted to have their photos taken; they hadn't since their wedding, and Brad was leaving the next week for basic training for the Guards. They wanted to have some photos taken before that. Because of my sweet spot for the military, I knew that I would do whatever juggling my schedule required to fit them in. We met on a beautiful sunny morning, just days before Brad would leave for training. I felt so honored to get a glimpse into their life and their love. I am lucky.
