My sister-in-law is finishing her last day of 4th grade today. When I was in elementary school, it was K-5, Middle School was 6-7, Junior High was 8-9, and High School was 10-12. Now, the schools have changed and elementary is K-4. Middle School is 5-8, and High School is 9-12 at two neighboring campuses. So today is Ashley's last day as an elementary student. Her last day at the school she's gone to for the last 5 years. How did that happen??
Her school had their graduation ceremony last week and of course, we went and I brought my camera. I remember my last day at my elementary school; the last time we played kickball out on the playground. I bawled my eyes out as I left the school yard. It's so weird how that feels like a lifetime ago but also like it was just yesterday. When in all reality it was 15 years ago.
I'm excited for Ash as she embarks on new adventures. I'll be there taking pictures along the way.
The 4th graders performed some songs for the audience, two of which I knew every word to! One of "You're a Grand Ol Flag" and the other was "Fifty Nifty United States" which is the way I remember all of the states in the US!
So cute! Thanks for sharing the family moment.
