1 on 1 Mentoring Sessions

A few weeks ago, I crossed another thing off of my professional bucket list.

I had my first 1 on 1 mentoring session with someone wanting to learn more about the basics of photography.

It came about because she wanted to attend the Love Your Camera session I was offering, but was going to be out of town for the weekend. So she asked if I would possibly be interested in doing a 1 on 1 mentoring session. While I hadn't formally publicized my interest in doing these sessions, I have been tossing the idea around in my mind for a few months. When she asked, I responded with an enthusiastic "Yes!"

I was too busy talking and gesturing to remember to snap a photo of our mentoring session, so I'm going to have to use a photo of a newly budding tree instead. This is symbolic of the session - new knowledge developing and growing into a better understanding of her DSLR camera and into better photographs. Metaphorically speaking.

I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to work 1 on 1 with someone wanting to learn more about their camera and about photography in general.

I am definitely open to doing more 1 on 1 mentoring sessions if there is interest. These aren't cookie-cutter sessions, they are tailored to what you already know, what you want to learn, and how to best get you there. They are best done on a face to face basis, but with the technology available today, Skype opens up a whole new realm of possibilities. [Would you believe I haven't actually used Skype yet? I know, get with the program, Laura!] If you aren't from central Minnesota and are interested in discussing the possibilities of a remote mentoring session, send me an email! Let's talk and brainstorm. I'll learn how to use Skype just for you.

If you would like to explore the possibility of a 1 on 1 mentoring session and are local, send me an email at lauraradniecki@gmail.com. We'll talk about where you're at, where you want to get to, and how to best meet that goal. I am excited to hear from you!

  1. Hmmmm. I will definately have to think about this one!! :) I still wish I was local though. Guess what?! I have NEVER used Skype either. Wouldn't even know how to get started. I don't even have any kind of web-camera in my house either. Never have used one of those either! LOL. See, your not the only one. :)
