M-J-T-Z [Brainerd, Minnesota - Family Photography]

Can I just say right now that this session blew my mind. Like seriously. The days have been getting shorter [boooo!] but this has done something great for photography. My evening sessions at 5 or 6 used to be completed with much daylight left. Now, with the sun setting constantly earlier, a 5 pm session means the light is dipping low and it's turning that fab golden color with the dreamy haze that I love. love. LOVE. It did just that during this session of M.J.T&Z.

These girls - I could have spent the entire day with them. The little one got a bit tired of a big camera in her face, and just wanted a snack break. But the older one - I think we might be seeing her on the runway in a few decades! Seriously - she's a rockstar!

To me, these photos ooze summer. Late summer maybe, but still... life, the vibrant colors of a Minnesota summer, the golden sunshine of evening, and a few [A LOT] of mosquitos thrown in. When it's -50 degrees this winter, I'm going to pull up these photos and have a look. It'll remind me that no matter how barren and cold things get, summer will come again.
