Grandma and Grandpa Meet the Wii

Monday afternoon was an epic day around these parts. Ok, maybe not epic, but it was very memorable.

After a lunch full of good food and even better chit chat, my grandma and grandpa came to see Matt and my apartment for the first time. After the grand tour, we booted up the Wii.

They had both heard all about the Wii and wanted to give it a whirl.

My grandma fell on some ice and broke her shoulder in 1992. That ended her time as a bowler. On Monday, she was able to give bowling a whirl again, even if it was slightly different that what she was used to.

In the end, they both loved the Wii. They are even considering one for themselves.

There's something nostalgic, emotional and lovely about modern technology and history [in the form of my spunky 80-something year old grandparents] colliding together.

Enjoy the ride,

Laura

  1. I love old folks, especially since I am now one. It's sweet to spend time with your grandparents. Wish now that I had taken more time with mine.

  2. I feel so blessed that my grandparents are still so healthy and able to do things with us. They used to winter for half the year in FL but have now decided to spend the bulk of the year in MN with family. I'm glad because that means more time to spend with them!
