Action Sets and Prayer Requests

I was planning on writing about two profound quotes or theories that I have encountered in the past two days...

But -

I spent a good part of my day staring at this computer screen, diving into the world of actions for Photoshop Elements. Up until last night, I was living under the false impression that actions were only available for the full blown Photoshop packages. I was WRONG!! Thanks to Rita at CoffeeShop, I spent a good chunk of the day downloading, reading up on, unzipping, and applying the 25+ actions I downloaded today. The best part about Rita, besides her being COMPLETELY talented, is that all of her actions are FREE! Yes, Free. I could hardly believe it myself. These days, not much is free.

If you have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements [any version], check out Rita's site. It took some reading to figure out how to upload the actions into my PSE7, and even more time to figure out how to apply them, but I learned so much about things like layer masks today [I'd had a taste a few months ago, but completely forgot everything I learned until today.] I've got a lot more playing around to do, before I realy figure out the action sets to their full potential. But from my preliminary assessments, they are SPECTACULAR!

So, because of the way I spent my day/evening, my eyes are sore, they are beginning to cross, and I'm in serious need of a head scratch from my hubby. [hint, hint, Matt!]

I'll try to be profound tomorrow. Well, it's not me being profound at all; I'm just relaying what others said. But it is pretty profound.

Until then, here's some of the fruits of my Photoshop labor. My Photoshop Elements 7 program has been a little [a LOT] neglected since I was introduced to Lightroom in October. But have no fear PSE7, I'm back with a vengeance! The great thing about PSE and LR is that they go hand in hand. That's what happens when you're using two Adobe products, I guess.

I've gotta go take more photos so I have more to edit!

And before go, I want to ask you to keep a few people in your prayers tonight.

-Matt Miller, the brother of my co-6th grade Religious Ed teacher. He was readmitted to the hospital following surgery for pancreatic cancer. It seems his stomach is having a hard time adjusting to the changes post-surgery. Pray for his recovery, for his strength, for his morale, and for his family.

-For little Bronson. That he continues to fight and to improve. That his family can feel God lifting them up and holding them in the palm of His hands.

-For the family of this poor little guy. May his family feel God's presence during this horrific time, as well. Also, that their little guy is now one of the angels who will watch down over them and protect them - free from any sadness and hurt.

God bless you all.

Laura
