A week or so ago, I was reading through my Instagram feed and like usual, the beautiful and talented Lara Casey had a post that talked about planning for August, and living this month intentionally.
I might think I am living my life intentionally, but I know that I am very guilty of living out my days in a very unintentional manner. Especially in the busy season when I have a thousand things to do. I seem to flitter from one thing to the next, and at the end of the day, I look back and wonder where the last 8 hours went.
Did you know that today is the first day of August?
If you're like me, you are staring dumbfounded at your calendar with your mouth hanging open, saying "Whaaaaaaaaat???" [Cue the minions.]
Two thirds of my summer has FLOWN by and I am just now looking up from the rush and finding the last of summer slipping through my fingertips.
So Lara's post about living an intentional August could not have come at a better time for me.
Yesterday, I got out my Powersheets and I sat on the floor with my calendar. I planned out my goals for the month and I scheduled things that I want to do yet this summer. Matt and I put our date nights on the calendar. I put a beach day on the calendar. [Now hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate.] Everything that I want to do still this summer needs to be written down and given a spot on my calendar, otherwise it won't happen.
I fully intent to squeeze every last summer-loving drop out of these days in August that I can.
If you've spent much time around these parts at all, you know that I am summer-obsessed and I am not a cold weather fan. I yearn for summer the second the first snow flakes fall to the ground. So that is why it's even MORE important for me to make an intentional effort to enjoy the remainder of this summer. Because I will be sorely missing it once it's gone.
Are you living an intentional August? Have you put the last of your summer bucket list onto your calendar or your To Do list?
Let's do it so we can soak up the last of the days like this.
