2010 Kiwanis Kids Triathlon - 8.28.10

This afternoon, my sister in law, Ashley, did a kids triathlon. She did it last year, but because Matt and I were in Hawaii, we didn't get to see her participate. Matt and my mother in law, Sheila, are doing the full sprint triathlon tomorrow. Theirs is .5 mile swim, 17 mi bike, 4 mile run. Ashley's was 25 yard swim, 2 mile bike and 1 mile run. The older kids, up to 14 yrs old, had a little longer route.

Anyway, it was so fun to see all of these little kids doing such a challenging event. They did so well! We cheered and hollered as each heat began, and they transitioned between the different events.

Tomorrow morning, I'll be following Matt and Sheila as they conquer their race. Because I am so not an exercise fan, I'll be riding in the car along the route they bike, and cheering from the sidelines of the swim and run, photographing them along the way. I think I'll probably be way nervous and have a stomach ache for them, until they each cross the finish line!
