20 Questions

I found this 20 question survey on one of my daily reads - The Quiet Life - and she got it from one of her daily reads. That's how the lovely blogosphere works, you just keep clicking and you make new friends in the process. I look at my reader sometimes and I wonder, how did I find this blog again?

I thought it would be a fun, lighthearted post for this beautifully gorgeous Friday.

1. when you looked at yourself in the mirror today, what was the first thing you thought?

Ooof, my hair is a mess!

2. do you miss anyone right now?

I miss all of the amazing friends we met/had in Hawaii. Just to name a few - Kaylee, Andrew, Malin, Jamie, Cody, Madi, Lauren, Tim, TJ, Laura, Jonathan, Isaiah, Kylie, Naomi, Jenn, Sabino, Wes, Jill ... miss you guys daily!

I also miss Matt's family [who are now my family too!] that lives in California. I wish we could see you guys more often then we get to.

3. if you could move anywhere else, would you?

I would, if I could frequently see my family. I would love to live in Hawaii again someday - who knows what the future will hold!

4. if you could choose, what would your last meal be?

Well, this question isn't very fun for me since I haven't had an appetite for the past week, and even being in the grocery store is a struggle for me... but - if I was feeling totally healthy and had my appetite back??

I would probably want to eat tacos and cheesecake. And pop. Probably non-diet pop like coke or pepsi too!

5. what famous person, dead or alive, would you want to have lunch with?

Jesus.

6. what was the last book you read?

I think it was one of the Sisterhood series books by Fern Michaels. I need to go the public library - it's been way too long since I had a book in my hands!

7. what was the last movie you watched?

I watched part of the 2nd National Treasure movie on TV last night. Since I've been sick, Matt and I have been watching a lot of Netflix movies - my favorite of the week was Blindside.

8. what was the last song you heard?

Probably one by Rascal Flatts in my car, driving home last night.

9. what is your dream vacation?

I'd love to go to Australia and New Zealand. I also want to visit Africa someday too - but probably not in the same trip.

10. what is the next trip you will take?

We are going to the Twin Cities next weekend for the Tour de Cure bike ride for diabetes! That's not that far of a trip though - we don't have any out of state trips planned in the next year or so. Focusing on Matt's schooling and my weddings, and then once he graduates, we'll maybe head to Mexico or something!?

11. did you ever go to camp?

Yep! I went to a basketball camp once.

I also spent 3 amazing summers at Camp Shamineau, a Christian camp. I LOVED the chapel time at night.

12. have you ever been in love?

Have, am and will always be!

13. what do you want to know about the future?

Hmmm... I think I would like to know if Matt and I will have a happy life. But then again, I guess we will have a happy life is we MAKE a happy life, so it's up to us... I sometimes think I'd like to know when I would die, but then I think that if I knew I was going to die next year or something, I'd stop living day to day and just dread my death. I don't think I'd be able to make the most out of my remaining days, knowing when my end was coming.

14. where is your best friend?

Sitting next to me, on his computer too. [You can laugh. I know, we're kinda lame. We don't have kids yet, so we have time to do stuff like this! :)]

15. how is your best friend?

He's good. Looking up information about crappies.

16. who is the biggest gossiper you know?

People on MTV shows and in tabloids. Haha, I don't really know.

17. what does your last text message say?

My phone is in the other room, so I can't check it. I think it's something about going to see my grandparents today!

18. what are 3 things you've always wanted to do, that you still plan to accomplish?

Become a mom.
Go to Africa [and Australia, and Europe too.]
Be a stay at home mom, at least for a little while.

19. what is one thing you learned from your parents?

What a good, healthy and lasting marriage is.
Also, how to support each other and children no matter what.

20. what is one thing you hope to teach to your own children?

To follow their dreams and do whatever it is that makes them happy and gives them true joy.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it? It's like those surveys that were really popular and were emailed back and forth around the time I graduated high school and went to college. I like to learn more about other people's lives through things like this.

If you want to either answer these questions in the comment section here, or if you are a blogger too - on your own blog, feel free! I'd love to know if you do so, so that I can come read your answers too.

Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone. Enjoy the sunshine, your FREEDOM, and make some awesome memories.
